Lakewood warranty

Warranty
Every Lakewood guitar is a unique entity, built with passion for you in our workshop. We place a high value on particular aspects of quality which you may well have noticed on a closer examination of one of our fine instruments. All woods and other materials have been meticulously selected and processed.
We are so sure of our materials and workmanship that we offer a guarantee to the trade of 10 years for each guitar. Perhaps you have been dreaming of a Lakewood or saving towards fulfilment of your wish – well, you deserve it. Holding a quality guitar in your own hands which will give you joy beyond the guarantee period can indeed become a reality.

All Lakewood guitars are guaranteed for a period of ten years against defects in materials or workmanship. The guarantee commences on the date of manufacture. This guarantee is not identical to the legal warranty which may exist in the applicable jurisdiction where the dealer is located (which is mostly shorter in duration).
A guarantee is, however, not a ‘wild card’ and we respectfully remind you of the need to care for your guitar properly. Given this, you will be able to enjoy your precious instrument for decades to come.

The manufacturer’s guarantee excludes the following:

  • Normal wear and tear, strings, frets, bridge inserts and nuts
  • Loss of the instrument
  • Damage from external causes
  • Damage due to excessive or inadequate humidity
  • Natural ageing and checking of lacquer finishes

Certain components such as tuners, machine heads, cases, gig bags and pickups are subject to a two year guarantee.

Repairs executed by parties not approved by Lakewood will invalidate the guarantee.

The guarantee is transferable.

Lakewood does not accept any liability for consequential or indirect losses, howsoever arising.

To check whether a guarantee claim is applicable, please contact us at [email protected].
Should it become necessary to send your guitar to Lakewood, please ensure that it is properly packed and protected. The costs of transport and insurance are for your account, as owner of the instrument. Kindly include your return address and telephone number plus a description of the perceived defect.

Lakewood will execute the repair in accordance with the guarantee terms and conditions and return the instrument to you. The costs of the return delivery will also be borne by you as owner of the instrument. Should the defect fall outside the guarantee, your may choose either to have the instrument repaired at your expense or to get it returned unrepaired.
