Then take part in the big Lakewood Acoustic Guitar Contest 2025 on Instagram!

Singer-Songwriter: Play and sing your own song!
Fingerstyle: Showcase your self-written or self-arranged instrumental piece full of technique & emotion!
The following prizes are available for both categories:
- 1st place: A handmade Lakewood Custom Shop guitar worth €3,000
- 2nd place: An AER Cubello acoustic amplifier
- 3rd place: An L.R. Baggs Venue DI effects pedal
- 4th–10th place: Exclusive guitarist accessories from D'Addario and Lakewood.
How to participate
Record a video of yourself (alone or with max. 1 other person).
Sing an original song (no cover songs, lyrics in any language) and accompany yourself on your acoustic guitar (for the Singer-Songwriter category) or perform a self-written and/or self-arranged instrumental piece (for the Fingerstyle category).
The video must be at least 60 seconds long.
Important:
Post it on Instagram, use the hashtag #LakewoodContest2025, tag us as a person (@true_lakewoodguitars) in the video, and follow our channel!
Contest period: March 14 – April 27, 2025
Winner announcement: May 10
Our Jury
Fingerstyle category: Sophie Chassée, Sungha Jung, and Ulli Bögershausen
Singer-Songwriter category: Wallis Bird, Max Giesinger, and Gregor Meyle
Participation Requirements
4 purely technical requirements must be met:
- Your submission video must be uploaded to Instagram between March 14 and April 27.
- Follow our Instagram channel @true_lakewoodguitars
- Tag us as a person in your video (@true_lakewoodguitars)
- Mention the hashtag #LakewoodContest2025 in the video caption.
Other important conditions:
- In the "Singer-Songwriter" category, your song must be an original composition and can be performed with a maximum of one additional musician. Naturally, at least one acoustic guitar must be played! :)
- In the "Fingerstyle" category, your piece must be either an original composition or a self-created arrangement.
- Your video or song must be at least 60 seconds long.
- Until the winner is announced, your video must remain publicly accessible and must not be hidden behind privacy settings.
By the way: The guitar used in the video does not have to be a Lakewood guitar! (:
A residence within the European Union is required to be picked for one of the contest prices.

Be part of it live!
The top 3 in each category will have the opportunity to present a small repertoire of their songs at an exclusive Lakewood concert with Gregor Meyle in our workshop in October, in front of a selected audience, and get to know us and our workshop.
